General Information
The responsibilities of the Finance Department include the supervision, coordination, and administration of major financial affairs including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and fixed assets. The department also oversees the purchasing of goods, services and equipment for all departments within Clarendon County government. In addition, the department performs grant financial management responsibilities for the county.

CONTROLLER’S OFFICE
The Controller’s Office maintains the fiscal integrity of the county’s financial records. This Office reports the results of the County’s operations and changes in its financial position to various interested parties, such as state and federal grantors and regulatory agencies, financial markets, investors and concerned taxpayers. Functions include accounting, budgeting, internal and external audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable (excluding ad valorem taxes), risk management and grants administration.

PROCUREMENT OFFICE
The Procurement office purchases goods, services and equipment for all departments within Clarendon County. This office ensures that the methods of procurement are fair and equitable and that the products meet all bid specifications, are of high quality and constitute the best value for the tax dollar. This office also prepares and executes all County contracts for supplies, services and construction. After award, an extensive contracts administration program goes into effect.
