CORRECTIONAL OFFICER
Will be responsible for performing correctional duties involving the care, custody,
and control of adult male & female inmates incarcerated at the Clarendon County
Detention Center. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and posses a
valid S.C. driver’s license. Must successfully pass a pre-interview physical
fitness test (timed push-ups, sit-ups & 1 mile run/walk). Cannot have a
conviction for a felony or certain misdemeanors involving crimes of moral
turpitude. Must pass all background checks and complete the Basic Jail Officer’s
Training Course within the first year of employment. Any employee may be
required to work 12 hour shifts or other hours in accordance with recognized
FLSA, and may be required to work weekends, holidays and rotating schedules.
